Ever since I was a small child, I have always dreamed of becoming a teacher.
I was very interested in Biology at secondary school. I thought I could be a great Biology teacher.
However, as I was nearly finished with my secondary school certificate at the age of 18, my childhood dream vanished. I wanted to pursue business, so I earned my BBA degree in Hong Kong.
My peers are not pursuing their careers in education.
Ever since then, I never thought of becoming a teacher again.

I entered the market research and consumer insights industry in 2007 by chance. As a junior professional in my early years, I learned how business operates, how important consumer insights are, and what teamwork involves through both failures and successes.
I have also heard many stories while working with my bosses, colleagues, and friends.
I also learned that learning should never stop, so I need to stay humble.
I believe young professionals need more guidance in their careers, just like what I have received.
And, I believe now it is time for me to give back.

While my current role at Intuit Research continues, I am privileged to take up a new teaching role at Schulich School of Business, York University. Starting in September 2025, I will teach the marketing research course to Master of Marketing and MBA students.
Of course, I will teach many market research basics, but my other goal is to show my students how market research actually works in the real business world.
I also hope that my course can provide my students with valuable insights and give them some direction in their career choices.
I look forward to my first class in September.
